Preparation

Ingredients

  • 500 g Ribeye steak
  • 4 Sub rolls
  • 1 Green pepper
  • 1 Onion
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese
  • 20 g Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
Cooking

Instructions

  1. 1
Place the steak in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm slightly, making it easier to slice very thinly.
  2. 2
Slice the steak into thin strips and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. 3
Heat butter in a large frying pan and cook sliced onions and peppers until soft and lightly caramelised.
  4. 4
Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
  5. 5
Increase the heat and quickly sear the steak strips for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender.
  6. 6
Return the vegetables to the pan and toss everything together thoroughly.
  7. 7
Lay provolone slices over the hot beef mixture and allow them to melt.
  8. 8
Fill toasted sub rolls generously with the cheesy steak mixture and serve immediately.
